Overview

This particular model has consistently outperformed many of its competitors, in terms of reliability and performance, and surprisingly, there is not simply one, but in fact, several reasons for this!

While other manufacturers only belatedly started to utilize a similar restrictor in the thermosyphon tubes to better regulate overheating of their E61 groupheads (2 tubes running from grouphead to boiler), Vibiemme did this from the very beginning, to enhance their espresso extraction performance!

Vibiemme still uses 10mm inside diameter/ 12mm outside diameter thermosyphon tubes, whereas most other manufacturers are using smaller tubes (which tend to create greater overheating of the grouphead). Keep in mind: more metal used, translates to greater cost for the manufacturer (whereas less metal equates to less manufacturer-cost) … obviously there is no skimping at Vibiemme, and for them, no price is too steep when it leads to tangible results in quality espresso production!

Another contributor to the reliability of a Vibiemme espresso machine, is the position of its electronics, which are located down in the bottom, rear of the machine – well away from the heat of the boiler! Couple the large boiler with high output steam wands, and this machine froths milk in a jiffy. In fact, Vibiemme has refused to use so-called “no-burn” steam wands for two reasons: they slow down performance to froth milk AND they have silicone inside the pipe, which can sometimes tend to create foul odors.

Vibiemme is renown for having the most robust grouphead in the industry. Hands down! Customers who see these E61 espresso machines in person tend to gravitate towards the Vibiemme grouphead, due to its robustness of structure. Structural integrity doesn’t stop with the grouphead, either … the Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER HX rocks an all stainless steel body and chassis (with no black-enamel-painted frame, which could chip and/ or rust)!

The high-quality construction and unparalleled reliability/ performance of this Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER HX espresso machine stipulates that the only next step up from it, is to invest in a full-on commercial espresso machine. If you can fit this machine in your home and office, you will not regret purchasing this it!

Features

Features specific to the Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER HX Vibratory Pump (Manual) Espresso Machine:

  • Beautiful polished stainless steel body panels
  • Small lever on side of grouphead allows user to engage/ disengage pump and three-way manual solenoid valve to start/ stop espresso extraction
  • Manual three-way solenoid valve below grouphead allows removal of portafilter handle from grouphead immediately after espresso extraction has terminated
  • Insulation on inner wall between water reservoir and internal boiler
  • The electronic “brain” unit is located on the bottom rear … well away from heat that rises from a hot boiler and can damage electronics
  • Easily self-repairable (although some skill needed) – this machine is one of the easiest to diagnose and repair (can save on shipping costs!)

Features common to the entire Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER Espresso Machine line:

  • Heavy-duty true Vibiemme (Faema-patented) E61 grouphead: Maintains active water flow from the grouphead to the heat exchanger in the boiler.
  • The heat exchanger allows you to make espresso after espresso, until water reservoir is emptied
  • Professional-grade brass portafilters: one single-spout portafilter with a 1-cup filter basket, and one double-spout portafilter with a 2-cup filter basket.
  • Boiler Capacity: 1.8 liters plus 200 ml heat exchanger inside (capacities do not include thermosyphon tubes, steam pipe/ hot water tubes, grouphead, etc)
  • Removable 2.1 liter pour-over water reservoir

  • Power indicator light: Located on the right side; indicates when the machine is powered on.
  • Heating light: Located on left side; indicates when espresso machine is heating.
  • Water level light: Located in the middle; indicates when water level in water reservoir (in rear), is low.
  • Three-stage power switch: allows user to fill internal boiler without sending power to the heating element (prevents damage upon initial start up).
  • Full-size Parker pressurestat (rated as one of the best boiler pressure regulators): monitors boiler pressure.
  • Extremely large stainless steel drip tray: Can be easily removed for cleaning (slides out with pull of handle). Grate stays on machine when pulling out drip tray to facilitate one-step removal, when emptying tray.
  • Premium GICAR-branded electronic water level control (for internal boiler): is located in lower right rear corner of machine, where there is least amount of heat build-up.
  • 41Watt vibratory pump (“vibe” pump), rated up to 15 bar, with air valve bypass.

    Notes

    1. The Philadelphia Inquirer stated "Even these high performers were blown away, however, by the gleaming chrome gargantua of the Vibiemme ($1,500), a retro- styled semi-commercial machine weighing in at 63 pounds. With a computer board to monitor temperature, a big boiler that transitions with no time delay between coffeemaking and frothing (a major difference in some machines), and the option of going fully automatic or manual, this was the luxury limousine of the test. Its espresso was not just silky in texture, topped with a swirling, multihued crema, it sang ethereal notes of fruitiness and chocolate the other machines didn't produce."
    2. Types of water that cannot be used with this espresso machine.
    3. Some assembly required. Feet are not attached to the machine.
    4. Service Notes:
      1. Backflushing: This machine should be backflushed minimum once every 50 espresso extractions using detergent. This is only for cleaning the oils from the grouphead.
      2. Water Usage: We prefer that one uses softened (not just filtered) water, to prevent lime scale build up. Descaling really is for internal cleaning of the machine.

    Q&A:

    1. Q: The Manual version has a three-position lever (“off”, “passive pre-infusion”, and “brew”). This sounds like it gives me more control, but it does make me totally responsible for timing and stopping the brew. Is that correct?
A: That is 100% correct. Please note that vibration pump espresso machines already have a built-in pre-infusion cycle. The reason for this is that vibration pumps typically take up to 8 seconds to get to full pressure; for that reason, during those first 8 seconds, the ground coffee in the filter basket will be getting  passively “pre-infused.”

In the event that the item can be redirected or returned to us while in transit, you may be liable for any service fees we are assessed by the carrier. Alternatively, we can send a return label to you, once the item has been received.

Consequences of Refusal of Order Upon Delivery

Refusing a shipment does not comply with the terms of our Exchange & Return policy. It constitutes a breach of contract and will result in all shipping charges and a 50% restocking fee, being charged to the Customer, for any refused item(s).

    SHIPPING TIMELINE

Prior to the order’s shipment from the warehouse, you can stay advised via Order Status; once your item(s) has/ have left the warehouse, you can monitor its progress via the Tracking Details email we will send, to confirm shipment.

Shipping timelines depend on a number of variables, including product availability, lead time, warehouse location and distance being shipped to client – while we make every effort to provide accurate shipping timelines, unfortunately, it is not an exact science, and so it is important to understand that timelines listed are only our best-educated estimate.

At The Concentrated Cup we fully understand the desire to receive your order(s) as soon as possible. With a focus on transparency, we have ensured that all of our products have associated “lead times” (e.g. “ships within 24-48 hours”). This information can be found on each product’s description page. The lead time specified on each product in our store indicates the current estimated time-frame for delivery. While the shipment calculator is a calibrated estimate, it is no guarantee of a specific delivery date.

Because we ship from warehouses located throughout the United States, please note that transit times may vary for different products. As an example, for a customer living in California, it may take 1-2 business days to receive an item that is shipped (via ground) from a warehouse located in California. However, it may take up to six (6) business days for the same customer to receive an item shipped (via ground) from our warehouse in New York.

Impact of Packaging/ Repackaging and Bench-Testing on Shipment Timelines

Before shipment, most or all espresso machines and grinders are removed from packaging and tested. This is done to ensure that they have arrived from the manufacturer without damage, and to add to or modify packaging, prior to final shipment. The majority of machines are also bench-tested – either at that time, or just prior to final shipment to customer, upon order. Please note that as a result of the bench-testing, grinders may retain some residue. Signs of opened packaging, or grind residue does not mean that the product was returned or used previously by another customer – these are merely indications of industry-standard bench-testing and shipping procedures, implemented to ensure receipt of quality products.

On occasion, this may add time to the process of preparing your order for shipment. If this is the case, The Concentrated Cup will be sure to keep you apprised of any delayed order status, and will forward tracking information, as soon as the shipment has left the warehouse and these details become available.

    When Will My Order Ship?

If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your credit card, it will typically ship within five (5) business days from the date of your order.  We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse, to the email address you provided when checking out.  If you do not receive tracking information from us within six (6) business days of your order, please feel free to follow up with us at orders@concentratedcup.com.

If there is no damage visible on your new espresso machine, please check the operation of the machine with water only first, to inspect for internal damages, which would show water leakage. If there is water leakage, please contact us within five (5) calendar days, and please unplug the equipment.

If there is no damage visible on your new grinder, please turn it on without beans first, to inspect for any strange noises. Similarly, if any damage is noted, please contact us within five (5) calendar days, and discontinue any further use.

      SHIPPING CARRIERS

SHIPMENT DELIVERY: “DAMAGES IN TRANSIT” – CRITICAL TIMELINES & INFORMATION

Please inspect your package, when you receive it. All claims for shipping damages, defects (upon receipt) and missing items/ shortages must be made within five (5) calendar days of receipt of merchandise.

      • Box Damage: If you notice any apparent damages to the outer carton (e.g. gashes in the box/ box severely crushed/ internal packaging leaking peanuts/ creased corners), please alert the driver/ carrier immediately, and be sure to indicate this damage as a notation when signing the shipping documents for delivery.
      • Concealed Damages: If you notice any concealed damages from shipping, please contact us within five (5) calendar days of receipt of merchandise.
      • Packaging: Please make sure that you keep ALL packaging (boxes, shipping labels, peanuts, etc.) as the respective carrier inspector will need to inspect the package. Failure to keep and return all packaging will render all applicable exchange, return and/ or refund privileges null and void and possibly warranty policies, as well.

If your order arrives with visible damage, please do NOT use the merchandise. The carrier will deem the shipment to be “accepted and acceptable” or “used,” and consequently will not issue a claim number, nor pay for the damages which occurred in transit.

Please be advised that we cannot issue a replacement, exchange or refund unless a Damaged Merchandise Agreement claim number is issued. Please see “Damaged Merchandise Notification” page for further details on the process, and to begin a claim.

      PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE

At The Concentrated Cup, ensuring that we provide the absolute best online value and service to our clients is our top priority. In the event that you do find a lower price on an item of identical make and model, from a competitor who has the item in stock and is able to electronically fulfill your order, we will gladly match it.* This is our Price Match Guarantee.

If you wish to take advantage of our guarantee (prior to purchase), please contact us at orders@concentratedcup.com with the specifics of the competitor’s advertised offer info, to submit your proposed price match to us. Once approved (please see our “Terms and Conditions,” below), we will provide you with the details of our adjusted price match verification. The item must be a verifiable, advertised online price.

*Please note that the following Terms and Conditions apply to all requests for Price Match:

      • The Concentrated Cup matches prices of US-located online retailers, ONLY. Competitor must be a Manufacturer-Authorized Retailer of the merchandise.
      • Requests for price matching must be made at the time of purchase. We will be unable to honor any price match requests made after the transaction has been processed.
      • Price matched orders cannot be combined with any other offer or coupon. To determine verifiable lowest price, please consider the competitor’s complete package offering (inclusive of any additional charges or shipping fees), when comparing prices.
      • The item from our competitor’s site must be new (not refurbished or returned merchandise), and in stock (available for purchase with the competitor).
      • “Accessories” do not qualify for this guarantee, and cannot be price matched.
      • No items from an “Auction,” “Discounter” or “Closeout” website (e.g. Overstock, eBay, etc.) will be considered for price matching. These items are often being sold at a loss, and as we cannot sell an item for less than our cost, we cannot price match this kind of discounting.
      • Free shipping may no longer apply.
      • Special promotional offers (including free items) may no longer apply.
      • Please Note: We regret to advise that at this time no price match guarantee is offered on any Astoria products.
