With that in mind, we take measures to ensure a very high level of security for your online purchases (please also review our Security Policy). In regards to your visiting this website, the information by which you can be identified will only be used in accordance with this “Statement of Privacy”. Please read this policy in full, to learn more about the ways in which data is handled, and to ensure your understanding of our practices.

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on the site, place an order, enter a contest, respond to a survey, sign up for one of our newsletters, within general communication (such as email interaction), or when you utilize many other site features.

When you purchase something from our e-commerce website, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you share with us, such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our site, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address which provides us with information that helps us to learn about browsers and operating systems, so that your experience of our site can be optimized, and streamlined.

How do we use the information gathered?

  • To personalize your site experience, and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you seem to be most interested
  • To allow us to provide better service to you, in responding to your customer service inquiries and requests
  • To accurately administer online contests, store promotions, customer surveys or other site features
  • To quickly process your transactions and/ or purchases
  • With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products, discount coupons, sales notifications and/ or other related updates. If you have not subscribed to receive these emails, you will not receive such messages. We do not send frequent emails, but if you would like to, you may opt out of (unsubscribe to) our updates at any time, at your sole discretion. To facilitate this, we ensure that detailed “unsubscribe” instructions are included at the bottom of each email.

How do we protect visitor information?

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

How do you withdraw your consent/ opt-out, remove or modify information you have provided to us?

To modify your email subscriptions, please use the "Update Profile" or "Unsubscribe" links provided in any of our newsletters. Please note that due to email production schedules you may receive any emails already in production.

To delete all of your online account information from our database, sign into the "My Account" section of our site and remove your shipping addresses and billing addresses, as desired. Shopify does not permit the caching of credit card information (this data must be entered anew for each separate online order), so this information neither stores with your "My Account" information nor needs to be deleted from it.

Please be advised that some internet browsers allow for the caching of credit card information for ease of online purchasing, but this is on the customer's end, and does not impact the storage of such data on our servers. Please note that we may maintain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction in the future, and for record keeping.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors.

  • Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser “Help” menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to many features that make your site experience more efficient and some of our services will not function properly.

Do we disclose information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described below.

The term "outside parties" does not include The Concentrated Cup, Inc. It also does not include website hosting partners (“Shopify, Inc.”, please see “Shopify” section, below) and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing our customers, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. Additionally, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Shopify

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
