Overview
Enjoy a great latte or creamy cappuccino from a Vibiemme DOMOBAR JUNIOR espresso machine. Vibiemme calls it 'Junior' because of its smaller footprint, designed for those customers who do not have the room nor space for Vibiemme’s larger DOMOBAR SUPER espresso machines.
A little history... based on the great success of the Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER Heat Exchanger (a.k.a. HX) espresso machines, Vibiemme has designed the Vibiemme DOMOBAR JUNIOR HX, for those customers who need a smaller machine, but don’t want to compromise on the quality of their espresso. The Vibiemme DOMOBAR JUNIOR HX offers the same:
- ability to extract espresso and steam milk at the same time, and
- ability to change the pressure in the boiler (which is a direct proportional relationship to the temperature).
Please note that for Vibiemme to offer a lower price when compared to the SUPER machines, the following features are different (mostly due to the smaller space available inside the machine):
- The JUNIOR's footprint is smaller, to accommodate for those customers who have less space … but the upside of a smaller size means less metal used (thereby lower cost/ lighter machine),
- The boiler is controlled by a smaller pressurestat which needs to be manually descaled,
- The heat exchanger has a 1.0 liter boiler (which is smaller compared to the larger 2.45 liter boilers found on the SUPER models),
- The JUNIOR utilizes a smaller drip tray, and
- The grouphead and water tank switches are also smaller.
The DOMOBAR JUNIOR HX machine still boasts Vibiemme's gorgeous styling, its exclusive and original (Faema-patented) E-61 grouphead (as found on the larger machines), the same ULKA 41 watt pump, large adjustable overpressure valve (OPV), commercial-grade steam and hot water valves, multi-directional steam wand and hot water tap, brew and steam pressure gauges, heavy vacuum breaker valve, and one-way valve to eliminate back pressure from the boiler. With all this under the hood, AND a more economical footprint and pricetag, what more could one wish for?!
Features
- Stainless steel body panel: Polished to a mirror finish
- Heavy-duty true Vibiemme (Faema-patented) E61 grouphead: Maintains active water flow from the grouphead to the heat exchanger in the boiler.
- Insulation wrapped around the boiler: The heat exchanger allows you to make espresso after espresso, until water reservoir is emptied. You can also steam immediately before, during, or immediately after extracting an espresso without any wait time.
- High wattage heating element: Controlled by Mater pressurestat (adjusted from top of machine).
- Separate gauges:
- Boiler pressure gauge: Indicates steam boiler pressure (reading will vary between .8 and 1.2 bar pressure).
- Pump pressure gauge: Indicates brew pressure during espresso extraction (reading will vary while not extracting).
- Separate wands for steam and hot water:
- Steam wand: Located on the left side. Multi-directional for more flexibility. The wand is not insulated and thus provided faster steaming/ frothing of milk over “no-burn” steam wands. Activated using rotational knobs which allow for easier control of the intensity. Made of stainless steel.
- Hot water wand/ tap: Located on the right side. Multi-directional for more flexibility. Activated using rotational knobs which allow for easier control of the intensity. Made of stainless steel.
- Separate indicator lights:
- Power indicator light: Located on the right side; indicates when the machine is powered on.
- Heating light: Located on left side; indicates when espresso machine is Once fully heated, no need to pay attention to this light unless temperature surfing.
- Water level light: Located in the middle; indicates when water level in water reservoir (in rear), is low.
- Two-stage power switch (On/ Off): requires particular attention upon initial machine startup – when powering on for the first time, please make sure the intake reservoir hose (has large particle filter) draws in water. Once the pump activates for a several seconds and release, squeeze the hose for 3 seconds. If you hear a different pump noise, the pump is working. If the pump sounds the same, power down machine and contact us. If you hear no pump noise for the first 30 seconds of powering on, power down the machine and contact us, as a wire may have come off the pump during shipping.
- Pressurestat monitors boiler pressure (which is directly related to the temperature)
- Stainless steel drip tray: Can be easily removed for cleaning (slides out with pull of handle). Grate stays on machine when pulling out drip tray to facilitate one-step removal, when emptying tray.
- GICAR branded electronic water level control/ “brain” unit: For internal boiler, this is located in lower front of machine, where there is least heat build-up.
- Vibration pump: 41 watts, rated up to 15 bar with air valve bypass. Only 9 bar is needed to extract espresso, and wattage has no correlation to longevity.
- Largest OPV (over pressure valve): Located in the rear of machine with easy access when body panel and six (6) associated screws are removed. Opens when too much pump pressure exists.
- Accessories included: Single-spout portafilter, double-spout portafilter, 1-cup filter basket, 2-cup filter basket, blind filter basket (for backflushing), plastic coffee scoop, common plastic tamper (we do recommend upgrading to a better quality tamper).
