Overview

One has to ask oneself... Why pay $6,500 or more for a machine when the Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER Double Boiler can offer similar quality in your cup for a much lower price? Why save a few dollars on other double boiler machines, only to short-change oneself on the research and design that the Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER Double Boiler espresso machine has to offer?

From October 2009 to March 2011, Vibiemme worked diligently with importers, distributors and industry professionals to upgrade their DOMOBAR SUPER Double Boiler espresso machine. One of the main requirements was to design and build a dual boiler espresso machine that would not have any compromises at 15 amps electrical service when compared to 20 amps. We are proud to announce some of the improvements on the new, redesigned, Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER Double Boiler.

Version 4.0 now has both boilers (coffee and steam), fully insulated. The drip tray cover has been enhanced with a hole to reduce “splatter” from the 3-way valve, extended below the grouphead.

What lifts the Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER Double Boiler espresso machine to the TOP of the line amongst its competitors?

  • Double boilers: You can operate the coffee boiler and the steam boiler independently of each other, or run them both at the same time.
  • PID (Proportional, Integral, Derivative): This allows you to manage temperature control of the coffee boiler. If you are not sure what PID is, here is an overview
  • Small water reservoir (2.1 liters): Allows approximately 20 double shots to be extracted, before refill. Refill can occur on-the-fly, while the machine is operating. For those who believe a small boiler makes better coffee (due to fresh water displacement), the Vibiemme DOMOBAR SUPER Double Boiler machine will only confirm your beliefs!
  • Over pressure valve (OPV): Feeds excess water pressure to the drip tray and not to the water reservoir. The benefit of this, is that it facilitates the direct water connection without causing the reservoir to fill with overflow water (which can get moldy and so requires constant emptying and cleaning).
  • Drip tray: Slides out to drain, or may easily be connected to a drain.
  • Drain kit included: Drain hose can be purchased at local hardware or plumbing supply store.
  • Insulation on coffee boiler/ steam boiler: Helps save energy! The insulation on the coffee boiler also aids in temperature stability for espresso extraction.
  • Only 15 amps required: Without the need for any additional switches or internal adjustments.
  • Commercial-grade rotary vane pump: Offers the ability to use the internal water reservoir or directly plumb to the water line (manual lever under machine must be moved to indicate appropriate water source, as desired). Includes stainless steel braided hose with 3/8" male thread.
  • User programmed offset: The temperature regulation is at the coffee boiler, and the grouphead always has a lower temp. This feature allows the user to program this delta in temperature, as every environment has a different offset.

In addition to achieving optimal temperature stability over previous versions, one of Vibiemme's main goals when redesigning their double boiler machine was to keep the amperage requirement below the 15 amp mark - not only making it easier to find a connection in any household, but also in order to keep energy consumption at a minimum. Thanks to an innovative method of controlling the percentage of power to the heating elements, Vibiemme's Power Management Control System (PMCS) automatically regulates variable power to each heating element. The total amperage draw of the machine will never go over 15 amps, using 110-120 volts.

Features

  • Heavy-duty true Vibiemme (Faema-patented) E61 grouphead: Maintains active water flow from the grouphead to the heat exchanger in the boiler.
  • Professional-grade brass portafilters: one single-spout portafilter with a 1-cup filter basket, and one double-spout portafilter with a 2-cup filter basket.
  • Coffee boiler capacity/ material: 0.5 liter copper boiler - this very small coffee boiler allows quicker displacement of any stale water (this is a significant innovation and improvement from what is the “norm” on larger coffee boilers for machines in this class).
  • Steam boiler capacity/ material: 1.9 liter copper boiler.
  • Boiler pressure gauge: Indicates steam boiler pressure.
  • Pump pressure gauge: Indicates brew pressure during espresso extraction (reading will vary while not extracting).
  • Multi-directional stainless steel steam wand: Located on the left side; can be moved in multiple directions.
  • Multi-directional stainless steel hot water tap: Located on the right side; can be moved in multiple directions.
  • Power indicator light: Located on the right side; indicates when the machine is powered on.
  • Heating light: Located on left side; indicates when espresso machine is heating.
  • Water level light: Located in the middle; indicates when water level in water reservoir (in rear), is low.
  • Three-stage power switch: Allows you to operate the espresso machine with coffee boiler only, with steam boiler only, OR with both boilers simultaneously.
  • Jaeger pressurestat: Monitors boiler pressure in steam boiler.
  • Extremely large stainless steel drip tray: Can be easily removed for cleaning (slides out with pull of handle). Grate stays on machine when pulling out drip tray to facilitate one-step removal, to empty tray.
  • Premium GICAR-branded electronic water level control: Reacts to a .02°C temperature change, in the coffee boiler.
  • Rotary vane pump and commercial-grade motor: More quiet than a vibration pump, but please note, that it is more expensive to replace, if damaged. For this reason, regular descaling is important.
  • OPV (over pressure valve): Opens when too much pump pressure exists. Located in rear of machine, with easy access (once the body panel, 6 associated screws, and divider are removed). Although the pump has an adjustment screw for regulation, the OPV is an additional feature which manages overflow that may be caused by overpressure from the water company when the machine is plumbed in.
  • Accessories included: Single-spout portafilter, double-spout portafilter, 1-cup filter basket, 2-cup filter basket, blind filter basket (for backflushing), plastic coffee scoop, common plastic tamper (we do recommend upgrading to a better quality tamper).
  • Made in Milan, Italy.

    Notes

    1. Switch stages: To avoid any confusion in operating the machine:
      • Stage 0: Machine is off except low water light 'may' come on if water tank has low water.
      • Stage 1 w/ PID OFF: Brew boiler OFF and steam boiler OFF - used for initial refill without damaging the heating elements in either boiler.
    1. Stage 1 w/ PID ON: Brew boiler ON and steam boiler OFF.
    2. Stage 2 w/ PID OFF: Brew boiler OFF and steam boiler ON.
    3. Stage 2 w/ PID ON: Brew boiler ON and steam boiler ON.
    4. Some assembly required: Feet are not attached to the machine.
    5. Direct connect mode:
    6. Setup: There is a screw in the water tank plate that the user can tighten, to hold the plate down so the switch is activated to make the machine think there is water in the reservoir.
    7. Connecting water line: Water connection at bottom of machine is in the back left corner ~2" from the rear and ~5” from the left side panel. The water connection elbow under the machine is a 1/4" male thread. The included stainless steel braided hose, is 46" long and has the female fitting to connect to the water connection elbow. On the opposite end of the braided hose, there is a 3/8" female thread fitting. It is best to purchase a 3/8"M-3/8"F brass fitting for commercial espresso machines to attach to your water line, and then attach the braided hose to the brass fitting.
    8. Draining: This model has the capability to drain or not to drain. There is an included plug on the back of the drip tray. The plug can be removed or installed as desired. The machine's drain pipe can be manually directed to drain either to the right or left side of the machine. In either direction, the drain pipe can be angled 4" from either side. The included drain hose is 46" in length and has a 1/4"-3/8” inside diameter which slips onto the machine's drain pipe. The drain hose needs to drop vertically 1" for every 12" it goes horizontally.
    9. Water line pressure: Should be regulated to be between 35 and 40 pounds for proper operation of this machine. Check with your local water company/ plumbing supply to advise on purchase so as to meet any local building codes. In addition, check with them about any other of your local building codes, which may require a “backflow preventer” (which prevents boiler water from backflowing into water supply).
    10. Water supply: Connection must be made to a cold water supply line only.

    Changes to Orders Already Shipped

Once an item has been shipped, we normally cannot cancel or change the shipment. In the event that the item can be redirected or returned to us while in transit, you may be liable for any service fees we are assessed by the carrier. Alternatively, we can send a return label to you, once the item has been received.

Consequences of Refusal of Order Upon Delivery

Refusing a shipment does not comply with the terms of our Exchange & Return policy. It constitutes a breach of contract and will result in all shipping charges and a 50% restocking fee, being charged to the Customer, for any refused item(s).

    SHIPPING TIMELINE

Prior to the order’s shipment from the warehouse, you can stay advised via Order Status; once your item(s) has/ have left the warehouse, you can monitor its progress via the Tracking Details email we will send, to confirm shipment.

Shipping timelines depend on a number of variables, including product availability, lead time, warehouse location and distance being shipped to client – while we make every effort to provide accurate shipping timelines, unfortunately, it is not an exact science, and so it is important to understand that timelines listed are only our best-educated estimate.

At The Concentrated Cup we fully understand the desire to receive your order(s) as soon as possible. With a focus on transparency, we have ensured that all of our products have associated “lead times” (e.g. “ships within 24-48 hours”). This information can be found on each product’s description page. The lead time specified on each product in our store indicates the current estimated time-frame for delivery. While the shipment calculator is a calibrated estimate, it is no guarantee of a specific delivery date.

Because we ship from warehouses located throughout the United States, please note that transit times may vary for different products. As an example, for a customer living in California, it may take 1-2 business days to receive an item that is shipped (via ground) from a warehouse located in California. However, it may take up to six (6) business days for the same customer to receive an item shipped (via ground) from our warehouse in New York.

Impact of Packaging/ Repackaging and Bench-Testing on Shipment Timelines

Before shipment, most or all espresso machines and grinders are removed from packaging and tested. This is done to ensure that they have arrived from the manufacturer without damage, and to add to or modify packaging, prior to final shipment. The majority of machines are also bench-tested – either at that time, or just prior to final shipment to customer, upon order. Please note that as a result of the bench-testing, grinders may retain some residue. Signs of opened packaging, or grind residue does not mean that the product was returned or used previously by another customer – these are merely indications of industry-standard bench-testing and shipping procedures, implemented to ensure receipt of quality products.

On occasion, this may add time to the process of preparing your order for shipment. If this is the case, The Concentrated Cup will be sure to keep you apprised of any delayed order status, and will forward tracking information, as soon as the shipment has left the warehouse and these details become available.

    When Will My Order Ship?

If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your credit card, it will typically ship within five (5) business days from the date of your order.  We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse, to the email address you provided when checking out.  If you do not receive tracking information from us within six (6) business days of your order, please feel free to follow up with us at orders@concentratedcup.com.

The Concentrated Cup is pleased to offer FREE* shipping on all qualifying** orders ($75 or more), within the 48 continental United States (not including: Alaska, Hawaii, US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, PO Boxes or military and / or air force bases).

If you would like to pay for a premium shipping service (overnight, 2nd day, etc.) please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

While we make every effort to ensure same-day shipment of orders placed prior to 3pm EST, we cannot guarantee this. In-stock items can usually be expected to ship within 24-48 hours, but may take up to five (5) business days. Due to special processing and bench-testing requirements, espresso machines and/ or grinders in particular, may experience longer shipment timelines (please see “Shipping Timeline,” below).

Once your item ships, tracking information will be sent to you (please see “Shipping Confirmation/ Tracking Information,” below).

Once your item(s) reach a distribution center near you, a representative from the shipping company will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment.

*The method of free shipping will be at the sole discretion of The Concentrated Cup.
**Please note that orders can only be shipped to valid addresses.

      SHIPPING POLICIES

Please note, The Concentrated Cup does not currently offer international shipping.

      Shipping Confirmation/ Tracking Information

We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse, to the email address you provided when you placed your order.  If you do not receive tracking information from us within six (6) business days of your order, please feel free to follow up with us at orders@concentratedcup.com.

      SHIPPING CARRIERS

SHIPMENT DELIVERY: “DAMAGES IN TRANSIT” – CRITICAL TIMELINES & INFORMATION

Please inspect your package, when you receive it. All claims for shipping damages, defects (upon receipt) and missing items/ shortages must be made within five (5) calendar days of receipt of merchandise.

      • Box Damage: If you notice any apparent damages to the outer carton (e.g. gashes in the box/ box severely crushed/ internal packaging leaking peanuts/ creased corners), please alert the driver/ carrier immediately, and be sure to indicate this damage as a notation when signing the shipping documents for delivery.
      • Concealed Damages: If you notice any concealed damages from shipping, please contact us within five (5) calendar days of receipt of merchandise.
      • Packaging: Please make sure that you keep ALL packaging (boxes, shipping labels, peanuts, etc.) as the respective carrier inspector will need to inspect the package. Failure to keep and return all packaging will render all applicable exchange, return and/ or refund privileges null and void and possibly warranty policies, as well.

If your order arrives with visible damage, please do NOT use the merchandise. The carrier will deem the shipment to be “accepted and acceptable” or “used,” and consequently will not issue a claim number, nor pay for the damages which occurred in transit.

If there is no damage visible on your new espresso machine, please check the operation of the machine with water only first, to inspect for internal damages, which would show water leakage. If there is water leakage, please contact us within five (5) calendar days, and please unplug the equipment.

If there is no damage visible on your new grinder, please turn it on without beans first, to inspect for any strange noises. Similarly, if any damage is noted, please contact us within five (5) calendar days, and discontinue any further use.

Please be advised that we cannot issue a replacement, exchange or refund unless a Damaged Merchandise Agreement claim number is issued. Please see “Damaged Merchandise Notification” page for further details on the process, and to begin a claim.

      PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE

At The Concentrated Cup, ensuring that we provide the absolute best online value and service to our clients is our top priority. In the event that you do find a lower price on an item of identical make and model, from a competitor who has the item in stock and is able to electronically fulfill your order, we will gladly match it.* This is our Price Match Guarantee.

If you wish to take advantage of our guarantee (prior to purchase), please contact us at orders@concentratedcup.com with the specifics of the competitor’s advertised offer info, to submit your proposed price match to us. Once approved (please see our “Terms and Conditions,” below), we will provide you with the details of our adjusted price match verification. The item must be a verifiable, advertised online price.

*Please note that the following Terms and Conditions apply to all requests for Price Match:

      • The Concentrated Cup matches prices of US-located online retailers, ONLY. Competitor must be a Manufacturer-Authorized Retailer of the merchandise.
      • Requests for price matching must be made at the time of purchase. We will be unable to honor any price match requests made after the transaction has been processed.
      • Price matched orders cannot be combined with any other offer or coupon. To determine verifiable lowest price, please consider the competitor’s complete package offering (inclusive of any additional charges or shipping fees), when comparing prices.
      • The item from our competitor’s site must be new (not refurbished or returned merchandise), and in stock (available for purchase with the competitor).
      • “Accessories” do not qualify for this guarantee, and cannot be price matched.
      • No items from an “Auction,” “Discounter” or “Closeout” website (e.g. Overstock, eBay, etc.) will be considered for price matching. These items are often being sold at a loss, and as we cannot sell an item for less than our cost, we cannot price match this kind of discounting.
      • Free shipping may no longer apply.
      • Special promotional offers (including free items) may no longer apply.
      • Please Note: We regret to advise that at this time no price match guarantee is offered on any Astoria products.
